Geometric Appliqued Coasters for Silhouette America

Geometric Appliqued Coasters by Jessee M for Silhouette America {an Art School Dropout's life}About a week or so ago I blogged about this appliqued coaster set I made over on the Silhouette America blog. They were super easy to make and went together perfectly.

Which really is BRIGHT pink. It kind of made it difficult to photograph and then even more difficult to edit the photos because it never wanted to stay the same color pink. Oh and the background fabric is also by Robert Kaufman, it’s their Yarn Dyed Essex Linen and Cotton blend in Black. It might just be my absolute favorite new fabric. Actually I just love all of Robert Kaufmans basics, but we’ll talk about that in detail at another time.

I just couldn’t get enough of these things. If you want to make a set too you can read the quick instructions over on Silhouette’s blog.

Spray Painted Bathroom Organizers for Silhouette America

Spray Painted Bathroom Organizers by Jessee M for Silhouette America {an Art School Dropout's life}I’m still catching up with all of my Silhouette projects lately! The one above is one of my favorites. Its a set of spray painted bathroom organizers that I wrote a tutorial for. The complete instructions are over on the Silhouette America blog.

These are the first of three projects that will help me decorate my main level powder room. I painted it almost four years ago when we first moved in, and I just started getting sick of it. Plus it never really had a consistent theme, and I feel like bathrooms should always have a theme (I know thats probably just me, and probably passed down from having themed bathrooms my entire childhood)

Custom Quote Pillow for Silhouette America

Custom Quote Pillow by Jessee M for Silhouette America {an Art School Dropout's life}Here is another project I forgot to share on this here blog! It’s probably my favorite to date too since it’s completely customized to ME.

This pillow was made for the Silhouette America blog to showcase their Heat Transfer Material. Specifically the metallic color (which is super shiny). I was a bit behind on making this because of another project I was doing for them that just wouldn’t work for me (my fault, not theirs) So I felt it was only right to use a quote by my favorite author describing his love for deadlines…

“I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by” – Douglas Adams.

Gilded Faux Cuckoo Clock for Silhouette America

Gilded Faux Cuckoo Clock by Jessee M for Silhouette America {an Art School Dropout's life}Have you see the fake cuckoo clock I made out of paper for the Silhouette America Blog? If you haven’t, you should check it out!!

Gilded Faux Cuckoo Clock by Jessee M for Silhouette America {an Art School Dropout's life}It’s made out of adhesive cardstock, foil sticker sheets, chipboard and a clock mechanism. I’m not a fan of paper glue, but I am a fan of easy, and this thing was so easy!

Clean Cut Fabric Petal Wreath for Silhouette America

Clean Cut Fabric Petal Wreath by Jessee Maloney for Silhouette America {an Art School Dropout's life}My first tutorial for the Silhouette America Blog went live yesterday! Check it out for step by step instructions on how I made the awesome wreath above.

As you can see loads of different, awesome, fabrics were used in this wreath! I wish I could take credit for picking them all out, however they were all from a fabric shop coordinated charm pack. A charm pack is usually 42 – 5″ fabric squares assembled together in a pack. They are very helpful with small projects and or if you need loads of different patterns but don’t want to buy yardage. This one was filled with a bunch of Shot Cottons, a few lines from Art Gallery Fabrics, a couple Anna Maria Horner prints, some Birch Fabric lines and more! I loved this mix so much I actually used it in another project I’ll be sharing soon.

The charm pack was courtesy of Finch Sewing Studio in Leesburg, VA. (the shop that put the pack together) It’s an awesome shop in downtown Leesburg that is filled with all of the most colorful fabrics. You can tell just from the charm pack used in this wreath what I mean. It’s about a 25 min ride from where I live, and we have made it a weekly stop now. The owner and everyone who works there has been super sweet too! Added bonus.

I usually only buy black, white, gray and teal fabrics, but theres something about this shop that makes me want to buy all the colors! ALL OF THEM! I even bought a charm pack that has green in it, something I’d normally shy away from. This is a big step for me, and I think I want to add more color to a lot more of my projects. So keep an eye out!!!!!!
