Shop Update: Cake Banners

The NEW cast plastic Cake Banners are now available in the shop!!

Of course there are a handful of common phrases available for immediate purchase, They are stuff I say pretty often or just the first thing to pop into my head while I was casting these examples.

Then there are the custom listings! Of course I was going to offer custom options. These cake banners were just screaming to be personalized. Here’s how it’ll work though…

  • Cost: Pricing is based on how many letters you want. I was originally going to do it per letter, but then i realized just how much of a mess that might be. So instead you can choose either 1 to 3, 4 to 6, or 7 to 10 letters for now. Plus a custom Happy Birthday option. I will be offering larger quantities soon, I’m just still testing how many I can fit on a cake.
  • Color Choices: You can choose from color mixes I know will come out the same each time (you can see these examples in each listing) or you can message me ahead of time and we can discuss color options. I have a large collection of glitters, pigments and fillers so I imagine I can make almost any combo you can dream of, but who knows! Oh and there is also sprinkles, I shouldn’t forget the sprinkles!
  • Turnaround time: In the listing it says it may take up to 6 weeks to ship. Which it may, depending on how many custom orders I have on my list. If you need it sooner, please email me first to see what my current turnaround time is, just in case!

I Think that covers everything about custom banners. If you have a question I didn’t answer you can just comment here or email me! Or if you just want to tell me what you think of them, I’d love to read that too.

Kaleidoscope Kustoms: Mommy’s Little Monster Custom Blythe Doll

About two months ago I was contacted by Sarah of Kaleidoscope Kustoms, a customer and friend who designs gorgeous custom Blythe dolls. She had just purchased one of my Cloud Monster Necklaces and was curious if it would be ok if she reproduced one of my fabric designs on the lids of a girl she was working on. How cool is that request? Of course I said “YES”!

All I requested in return was some photos to share on this here blog…

KaleidoscopeKustoms_mol_001 KaleidoscopeKustoms_mol_002 KaleidoscopeKustoms_mol_003… and here they are!! I think she did an amazing job! I seriously had the biggest smile on my face when she tagged me in the photos! Oh and look what she used the necklace for. A pull ring!

KaleidoscopeKustoms_mol_004This is the fabric that was sent to her for inspiration (you can find it on spoonflower along with all my other monster designs). I’m thinking I may want one for myself now, maybe using this fabric as a jumping off point instead?

If you are interested in any more of Sarah’s work you can check out her blog or flickr account! Everything she does is so beautiful, I bet if you don’t have a Blythe doll yet, you’ll want one just so she can customize it!!

Please note that the first three photos are courtesy of Sarah Glahe/Kaleidoscope Kustoms and the rights belong to her. I asked permission before using!

Blythe Eye Chip Test…

This past weekend was spent doing one of the things I love the most… casting plastic! A great way to spend the weekend in my opinion.

I had a friend request some Blythe eye chips for one of her girls, plus I had some new 3D printed pieces I wanted to test out, so I put aside a big chunk of time to get them all done. I am so happy I did! It was so much fun to think outside the box and work with clear plastic for once. I even messed around with glitters, powders, fillers and beads. I now love it all!! I may be glitter obsessed.

I may have gone a little overboard with the eye chips too, as you can see in the first photo, but I’m ok with that. Whatever is left over, after friends pick out some pieces, I’ll add to the shop soon!

I also have a whole new line of necklaces, brooches, hair pins and bracelets now. I seriously can’t wait to share those with you. Maybe tomorrow I’ll do a sneak peek (as long as the weather permits photos, were expecting snow!)

Shop Update: Made To Order Zig Zag Necklaces

I’ve had a lot of requests for the Simple Zig Zag necklace I added to the shop a few weeks back. It was a test piece to see if I should make more. I ordered more pieces to cast, and have the molds all ready to go. So for the next week and or so I will be taking pre-orders for these necklaces, any color you’d like and you get to choose the type of chain too! I figured this would be easier than guessing what colors buyers would want.

Since I’m going to be casting a bunch of pieces in preparation for Crafty Bastards, I can also take color requests for any of my new pieces. Just leave a comment here or email me.
