I have been working on a new pattern behind the scenes for a month or two now. I’m calling it the Diamond Burst Quilt and it should be coming out next month. My testers are testing it as I type this!

I decided to test the waters to see how people liked it by making a mini quilt using Lizzy House’s new Printmaking line for Andover fabrics. They sent me the fabric as part of their QuiltCon 2017 booth, so it all worked out perfectly.

It will be sold as a mini quilt pattern, but I will be including diagrams and more to show how to make a twin, full, queen and more. I seriously can not wait until to show my sample quilt! It’s epic, and I don’t use that word often.

Just keep an eye out here for the exact release date.

In other news, the Pixelated Circles Quilt is being printed right now and hard copies will be available after May 8th. I will also be selling acrylic cutting templates for each size individually, or as a pack of four. All preorders can be found in my shop!

It’s that time again! I am in search of pattern testers for upcoming quilt designs. This time around though I have a proper schedule and will hopefully be releasing a new pattern every 6-8 weeks.

The first group is not needed until mid to late July and the finished quilt or block would not be expected until mid August. Then all other patterns will follow with a similar schedule.

To keep everything organized this time around I will be using a Facebook Private Group to pick and choose who will test what, and then Facebook Secret Groups for each individual pattern.

I will need 8 to 10 testers per pattern, at least 2 each of the following:

beginner

intermediate

advanced

large format templates

and more!

If you are interested I have more info and outlined most of my rules in the group, which can be found here.

*Disclosure: As a sponsored pattern tester for Angela Bowman Design, I was provided a PDF pattern to make the sewing project in this post.*

As stated above in the required disclosure, I was a pattern tester for this awesome Comp Book Cover Sewing Pattern by Angela Bowman Design. I love pattern testing, so when I saw she was looking for testers, I jumped on it. It’s a pattern for a standard sized or mini composition book cover, with numerous options when it comes to pockets and what the cover is made from. You can make a quilted cover or a non quilted. You have a few options for the closure too. Basically you can make a cover to fit your exact needs!

I was late to the testing pool, so I only had two days to try this pattern out. I finished it in 1.5 hours. It’s that awesome. I went the quilted route, but decided to use some of my cheater quilt fabric from Spoonflower to make the process go by even faster. I also only added one large pocket on each inside flap (I don’t have photos of that part yet because CT has already claimed this as her sketchbook journal cover) and I went with an elastic closure. I made it about a week and a half ago, and its already been dragged around by a very energetic five year old. It’s holding up perfectly!

The pattern was just released this week, and it’s a very reasonable $5 to download. So if you’d like to make one of your own, go check it out! You can also read Angela’s post that talks more in depth about it all here.

I myself am not done playing with this pattern, so keep an eye out for more variations…
