I received a few envelopes full of new fabric swatches from <a href="http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/jesseesuem?sort=new" target="_blank">Spoonflower</a>.</p>
<p><span id="more-3640"></span></p>
<p>The one I was most excited about was my <a href="http://www.spoonflower.com/collections/117765" target="_blank">In Plain Sight line</a> that I talked about last week. I tested out a few different scales &amp; color ways to see which ones I liked best. Turns out I like having options, which means I added the small AND large sized bugs and teacups fabric to my <a href="http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/jesseesuem?sort=new" target="_blank">Spoonflower shop</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5674.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3656" alt="Bugs &amp; Teacups fabric for sale on Spoonflower.com {an Art School Dropout's life} Designs by Jessee Maloney / JesseeSueM #spoonflower" src="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5674.jpg" width="550" height="325" /></a><a href="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5687.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3658" alt="IMG_5687" src="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5687.jpg" width="550" height="346" /></a>I had swatches made of the entire Purple &amp; Blue color way, because it really is my favorite color combo these days.</p>
<p><a href="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_567778.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3662" alt="Bugs &amp; Teacups fabric for sale on Spoonflower.com {an Art School Dropout's life} Designs by Jessee Maloney / JesseeSueM #spoonflower" src="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_567778.jpg" width="550" height="713" /></a><a href="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5689.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3660" alt="IMG_5689" src="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5689.jpg" width="550" height="384" /></a><a href="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5688.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3659" alt="IMG_5688" src="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5688.jpg" width="550" height="361" /></a>I also dabbled a little in colors I don&#8217;t normally gravitate too. I&#8217;m pretty happy with how they came out, so they were also added to the shop and I&#8217;ll probably have the rest of the collection available in these colors by the end of the month.</p>
<p><a href="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5694.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3661" alt="IMG_5694" src="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_5694.jpg" width="550" height="356" /></a>Oh and for fun<a href="http://www.spoonflower.com/profiles/jesseesuem?sort=new" target="_blank"> I added a few of the above designs</a> I&#8217;ve been messing around with in Illustrator too. They aren&#8217;t part of a collection, I was just curious what they would look like as fabric!</p>
<p>These swatches were really what I needed this week to get the creative juices flowing and start working on the next collection. I am really enjoying this all again!!!</p>

I myself still don&#8217;t know how I&#8217;m going to use it. No matter what it ends up being, I LOVE it. It&#8217;s the first in a series of 12 designs that will eventually all go together. I&#8217;m still working on logistics, but what I picture in my head is perfect. Ha.</p>
<p>For now though, if you are interested in trying this paper pieced pattern out, you can find it in my <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/123466419/geometric-shape-002-paper-pieced-pattern" target="_blank">Etsy shop at a very reasonable price!</a> It ends up making an 8&#8243; square piece which can be used as a quilt block or any of the things I mentioned above!! Oh, or you can add it to a dress, zipper pouch, tote bag, pillow or anything else you could possibly think of. The sky is the limit.</p>
<p>If you do use the pattern please note it is for home use only, and can not be used commercially. Also, I would really love to see any finished projects!! <a href="http://artschooldropout.net/blog/?page_id=12" target="_blank">Just email me</a>!</p>
