If I Had Unlimited Funds: March 18th

This week I decided to do another random assortment of things I have been eyeing lately!

I’m still on the gluten once a day deal, so I’m still tired and have had a lot of time to browse the Internets and basically window shop!

So if I had unlimited funds to buy whatever I wanted, I’d buy…

1 - Dreamy Morning Roe Dress by ZIB Textile (How amazing is this dress? there’s geometric shapes, deer and its teal! One of my favorite colors!)

2 – Organic Silver Post Earrings with White Gold Sparkles by tiny galaxies /// 3 – Scooter Necklace by Strangely Yours (How cool is this thing? It’s laser cut and can move!! Plus you can customize the license plate!! Plus its a scooter, I LOVE scooters!)

4 – Planet Poster 1 by Debbie Carlos /// 5 – Holding Pattern Overnight Bag on ModCloth

6 – Personalized Polaroid Portrait by Danny Brito (I think this is great, you send the artist a photo, and he does a Polaroid type illustration for you!)

7 – Twilight Fox Print by Hillary Bird /// 8 – Hexagonal Eco Resin Ring by Rosella Resin

9 – Wood Pendant Collar with Gold Geometric Pattern by the Twenty Fingers

10 – Alice in Wonderland tee on Uniqlo /// 11 – Modern Throw Blanket by Little Hip Squeaks (most of the items in the shop are for little ones, but I just love the simplistic patterns so much. I was excited to find out they made large throw blankets!)

I’m getting closer to the date when I can stop eating gluten again (April 10th to be exact), so I’m hoping to show more projects and less window shopping afterwards!!

So today’s window shopping theme is all about dresses, tights and boots! My newest obsession (which isn’t THAT new since I also talked about it back in November).

This latest form of obsession started a few weeks back while I was browsing the Internets, when I came across Target’s new designer collaboration with Prabal Gurung, and this dress…

I wanted it right away! It was the perfect color, perfect shape and even had a geometric twist to it. So I waited until my husband came home (and for friends to head out, since we had company that day) to take me to Target. I didn’t have high hopes it would fit, no dress every fits me right. My shoulders are petite, my torso is long and my legs are short. Never a good combo when it comes to dresses… or so I thought! I was totally proved wrong when I tried this thing on, it fit perfectly and actually flattered my body, which NEVER happens with cute clothes! I was sold, not just on this dress, but ALL fit and flare style dresses!! ALL OF THEM! (I even picked up this cute black dress that same night and have worn it multiple times)

Now I have this constant need to find dresses comparable, both in style and in cut. I never want to wear jeans again, I ONLY want to wear dresses, cute dresses! Lucky for me, these things are big now and you can pretty much find them anywhere.

So if I had unlimited funds to buy cute dresses I’d buy…

1 - Difference Between White and Saffron Dress on ModCloth /// 2 – Our Song Curvy Plus Belted Dress in Navy on Ruche /// 3 – Women’s Half Zip Fit and Flare Dress by Mossimo at Target (I seem to really love stripes!!)

4 – Emerald My World Dress on Hello Holiday /// 5 – Geometric Lace Skater Dress by Express

6 – Ivete Patchwork Dress by Leifnotes and found at Anthropologie (This dress is so neat! It’s actually patchwork, just like a quilt!!) /// 7 – Prabal Gurung For Target Dress in Meet the Parents Print found at Target (this is the monotone version of the first dress! I found it in my size at a Target not too far away, so I may go try it on this weekend to see if I like the print on me)

And of course you can’t just go buy dresses and not have anything to go under them! So here’s a few things I wish I could accessorize these, and other dresses, with…

10 – Motor Boots by Wanted Shoes /// 11 – Emerald and Black Leggings by ZIB textile (I really love patterned leggings and boots, the combo always makes me smile)

12 – Muse Flats by Elf (I’d take these in ANY color!! They are made by hand and look soo comfy!)

13 – Any Low or Mid Height Heel that Swedish Hasbeens makes!! (They are all so gorgeous!)

Since I’m new to this whole “buying cute clothes” thing, I could use any suggestions as to where to find dresses and such!! Thanks in advance!!

Oh and another part of my obsession seems to be the urge to make my own dresses! I’ve already made a muslin of one I really like and I’m just waiting on some custom fabric to come in. Once I finish the first working dress I’ll totally share it on here!!!! I’m excited, I’ve always wanted to make clothes and now I finally feel comfortable enough to do so!!!

So here goes, If I had unlimited funds and NO theme, I’d buy…

1 – I’m So Tired T-Shirt by Hello Apparel (maybe if i wore this shirt, It would explain my zombie like state these days) /// 2 – Rainy Day orginal print/painting by Sara Harvey

3 - Conan O’Brien Quote Typography Poster by IScreenYouScreen (I own their world map print, and I love it! the entire thing is screen printed, even the background color!!)

6 – Geometric Leggings by Dream Nation (everything thing is the shop is amazing!) /// 7 – Geometric Quilt Print by Almost Sunday Inc

So all I need to do now and either sell everything in my shop, or win the lottery and I’ll be able to get ALL OF THIS! I’d say either is a good plan!

If I Had Unlimited Funds: Modcloth

Let me start out by saying that I do not get to buy myself new clothes very often. I either spend the money on CT or I get too frustrated in the dressing room and give up. I have been itching to get some new pieces, and I’m thinking I don’t need another band tshirt or striped cardigan.

I blame all the awesome fashion blogs out there, or maybe the fact that I have a little girl who dresses super cute, but all of a sudden I want cute girly clothes. Dresses, skirts, tights, fancy coats and pretty shoes. I’m a stay at home mom, who doesn’t party or go out, so it’s really hard to justify such purchases. I always have to justify a purchase, otherwise I feel super guilty afterwards.

I am linked to ModCloth daily, usually from a blog, instagram photo or email. I spend way too much time on there looking at all their adorable clothes, and to top it off, they add loads more each day. They have everything I’ve been looking for and more. So if I had unlimited funds, or a very large ModCloth gift card, I’d buy…

1 - The Leif Aquatic Top /// 2 – Knits a Small World Sweatshirt (These two shirts are kinda like band tshirts, but way cuter! and warmer!)

3 – Your Fireside of the Story Cardigan in Coal (I said I didn’t need anymore cardigans, but this one has huge buttons, my other cardigans don’t have huge buttons!!) /// 4 – Plenty by Tracy Reese Turn to the Tundra Coat (I love the details on this coat, plus the fur comes off and leaves behind a cute collar!)

5 – Every Gilded Moment Dress /// 6 - Pretty in Prague Dress /// 7 - Coach Tour Dress in Noir (I really seem to be drawn to black dresses. Every time I try on a colorful pattern or solid colored dress I just don’t feel like myself. Apparently I have a little bit of a goth side. I’m seriously tempted to buy the Coach Tour dress, it looks like a good “starter dress”)

8 – Cultivate Colorful Tights /// 9 - Pale in Comparison Tights (How cute would these tights look under that Coach Tour dress? and with my Dr. Martens? or maybe those boots below?)

10 – Been There London That Skirt (how cute is this skirt?!? It reminds me of Disney)  /// 11 – Put Down Routes Boot (I like the height of these boots, the buckles and the fact that there is hardly any heel. I’m not a heels type of girl. These may be my perfect boots)

This list is a just a wish list, the only thing in my budget is that Coach Tour Dress. I really do like it. Do any of you readers have one? does it flare out a bit? or is it straight down? I’m short and chubby, I’d prefer a flared out skirt.

Oh and something neat, ModCloth is having a huge holiday sale right now! It’s their ‘Tis The Season sale. Starting Today and ending Sunday evening, 100 plus NEW ITEMS are 50% off. I missed out on their last sale, and I still see blog posts about how amazing it was. I Could buy one of those Coach Tour Dresses I like, looks like a few colors are on sale!! And I said I wouldn’t get all worked about holiday sales…

Edit: I ended up purchasing the Coach Tour Dress in Violet!!

I’m new to this type of internet shopping. Are there any other shopping websites you think I’d like? With styles similar to what I picked out above?

I know I will probably be spending most of my time behind the table at Crafty Bastards, but If I sell out or had unlimited funds, I’d love to buy…

1 - Flanksy Giant Squidious Monster by Cotton Monster (I seriously love everything she makes!! We already have one of her huge bottom feeders, a few watchful eyes and a pentapod but I always want MORE. Jennifer also has a few items available through Land of Nod this holiday season, you should check them out!)

2 – Vintage Wood Globe Tag by Neogranny /// 3 - Okapi Scarf – White and Black Hand Printed Infinity Scarf by Bark Decor

4 - Mr Hedgehog is a Southern Gentleman Nite Lite by You Know (the illustration is done by another Crafty bastards vendor Berkley Illustration)

5 - Lavender Belt by Miss Alison(I LOVE her belts! I have a few and I can say for a fact that they last awhile! After years of use, they still look perfect. Oh, and their vegan!) /// 6 - Dot Dash Asphalt Scoop Neck Tee by maryink (Whenever my baby sister helps me at shows, she usually ends up picking up a shirt by these guys! They’re so soft and vibrant)

7 - The Pizzasaurus Necklace by Snash Jewelry (Ok, this is awesome! It’s a Dinosaur skull eating a pizza!!! Even my husband thinks I NEED this necklace!)

8 – The Grateful Bun-Bun by Horrible Adorables (I just love faux taxidermy) /// 9 – Appalachian Trail print by Peaceful Traveler (we live about a mile, or less, from the Appalachian trail, which makes this print super neat and a perfect addition to our home)

So if you didn’t get the theme, I’ll let you in on it… It’s all nerdy pop culture stuff. I live for things like this. I love showcasing it all in my home, and on myself. I use to hide all my favorite things away, in fear that I would be made fun of. (I watched Stargate SG-1 from the start, when it was aired in the middle of the night, but I never told anyone until my husband) That’s totally not the case anymore.

I’m proud of my interests. I love TV. I love movies. I love anything to do with time travel, and I love everything Douglas Adams says… Plus so much more, I just love it all!
