Shop Update: August 22nd

I was able to add nine new pieces to the shop today. I had planned for more but CT was having a cranky day and needed more of my attention than usual. Some of the pieces are BRAND NEW, like the blue one pictured above, and some are just updated colors of existing pieces. Oh and theres also two new hairpin designs!! I’m really happy with all these new designs and I can’t wait to make more.

On a sorta related note… As you can see above, I’m trying out a new background for photos. I don’t know if I want to continue using wood as my background or not. It’s hard to do batch editing and such and a lot of times if gives everything a yellow glow. Plus I want a cleaner look to everything. I’m testing out options and would love your input…

Do you like the wood background? or the extremely (almost white) light gray one? or neither? Oh and keep in mind that the necklace on the left is black and the one on the right is dark gray, their not the same necklace.

I’m not a professional photographer with loads of equipment so this has been interesting figuring it all out, any suggestions would be great!

Thirty

This upcoming Sunday is my birthday, my 30th birthday to be exact. It doesn’t feel like a super important birthday, even though it’s technically the one that takes me out of my twenties. I don’t know. Sometimes I’m upset about it, sometimes I couldn’t care less. Ugh.

Anyway, to celebrate my “Birthday Week” I’m having a sale on the Art School Dropout website!

yep, 30% off any order over $30 to celebrate my 30th Birthday. 30, 30, 30! The sale starts now and will end Sunday at Midnight (EST). Just use coupon code: 303030BDAY during checkout. This coupon can be used on ANYTHING in the shop, even all the new pieces!

If you have any questions, just let me know!

Shop Update: July 13th

I think this is the most excited Ive been about a shop update since I first started casting plastic years ago!

I’ve been doing the same thing for so long, its been nice casting something new! I have been working on these designs for months. prototyping, picking out the right plastic, casting, tweaking the designs and assembling. I have been showing a lot of the process thru Twitter and Instagram if you want to see what all went into this…

This is the first part of the series. Basically the pieces that passed the prototyping and then tweaking process. I’m still working on way more!

This series is all original designs by me, Jessee, that have been 3D printed in glossy plastic. I make a mold of the printed pieces and cast them in plastic, and some of them then get filled with even more plastic! The process takes a lot longer than previous designs, but i’m much happier with the outcome. It’s all worth it to me!

In this update we have new earrings, new necklaces and one new brooch!

If you really love my new pieces, but don’t see the color you like let me know here! For the next 24 hours I will be taking requests for color combinations. I will begin casting them all tomorrow afternoon!

On another note, don’t forget the Adalou Blog is still hosting a giveaway and our Fab sale is still going on… both end Wednesday!!

Teeny Tiny Shop Update: July 5th

I’ve been cleaning up my studio and getting ready for our next Fab.com Sale! (which starts next Wednesday btw). While cleaning I’ve been finding jewelry that I made but only ever took to craft fairs. I have been photographing them as I find them, and will slowly update them in the shop

Here’s the two newest pieces I’ve updated…

I’ve also started updating mystery packs of necklaces and hairpins, you get a huge assortment for a great price!

Keep an eye out for a bunch more random shop updates!

Shop Update: June 8th, 2012

After two weeks of editing photos (I only worked an hour a night). I finally updated all the new necklaces!

There’s monster necklaces, geometric necklaces and patchwork inspired necklaces!!

Plus I made a few little houses that you can place on a shelf, in a cubicle or anywhere else you’d put something teeny. If you like them, please let me know I’d love to make other styles!

Time For Some Change…

I’ve been thinking long and hard about what direction I would like to take Art School Dropout. I realized I really enjoy working on my new pieces and I don’t enjoy working with the older pieces as much anymore. The change has been nice. I even have 20 new pieces coming in from the printers soon!!!

So to jump start the switch over I have started listing lots of un-assembled hand cast plastic pieces as supplies.

Now everyone else can use these pieces for whatever they like! They are flat backed and lightweight! They can be used in collages, as pendants, hairpins or anything else that you can think of!

I like to be prepared for large orders, so I always cast a bunch of each piece. There’s so many it may take me awhile to get them all up. For now you can snag a bunch of various lots, plus some lots of just one color!!

If you’d prefer an assembled piece, I have discounted all of the older designs. 40% off!
