Shop Update: Pin Cusions! {an Art School Dropout's life}

This has been an idea I have had in my head for almost a year! It just took me awhile to perfect it.

Let me introduce to you the exclusive Art School Dropout Pin Cushion! 

The bottom part is made just like a lot of my jewelry over the years. It is a lightweight hand cast plastic that was made using molds I created. Each one is one of a kind since I mix the pigments myself and the fillers. The inside of the pin cushion is a felted wool and is very dense. It will grab on to your pins and keep them super snug until you need them.

For this specific update I only added a small handful of variations. I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with shipping. I’m holding on to the second batch of these for a shop update in April!

Shop Update: Wood + Plastic + Fabric {an Art School Dropout's life}The shop is officially updated and ready for shopping! I kept this stocking small, since it is the first big update in a year or so. I don’t want to be overwhelmed and make mistakes. I need to get back in the swing of things.

If all goes well today, I will have another update in the next two weeks. So if you missed out on something today, don’t worry, just let me know in the comments below what your favorite pieces were and I’ll try and restock something similar. You can also leave comments with fabric suggestions/requests for the Fabric + Wood or Fabric + Plastic Necklaces. For this update I chose using my own personal taste.

Shop Update: Zipper Pouches and Hanging Swallows

Shop Update: Art School Dropout The shop has been updated and is open again! I’ll leave it open a bit longer this time, so everyone has a chance to snag something. This update included a few Quilted Pouches, Embroidered Vinyl Pouches, and some hand cast plastic Swallow Wall Hangings.

Shop Update: A Week Long Flash Sale

Shop Update: A Week Long Flash Sale {an Art School Dropout's life}Flash Sale Time!!! I have put up all of the extra Letters and Hexagons that I cast these past two weeks up in my main shop for ONE WEEK ONLY! 

Most of the listings are set up to be customized in some way or another. This was the reason I couldn’t do this on Instagram and had to open up my StoreEnvy shop again. It will help keep things organized a bit!

I’ve also added a few pre-made earrings, necklaces and a banner or two.

The sale will end Thursday, May 21st at midnight. At that point I will close up shop and start working on all the orders. I wont reopen the shop until the next sale. This way I can ship everything in a timely manner and still fulfill my contractual obligations I have.

All proceeds from this sale are going to help me take care of monthly payments on a long arm sewing machine, something I’m hoping to purchase very soon. The machine will help me turn out quilts faster, and allow me to experiment more with the actual quilting process. Then maybe after a year of practice, I can start taking on others quilts! It’s an exciting venture, and I just want to be ready. So expect a few of these flash sales within the next few months.

I have started setting up custom listing in my Etsy shop so when I do cast, I’m only casting what customer like, not just what I feel like making in hopes other will like it all.
