Spring Quilt Market 2016 in Salt Lake City: InstaGram Overgramming

sqm-16saltlakecitylogo

I am currently in Salt Lake City for a week long adventure at Quilt Market and checking out the local views. If you would like to see what I’m up to and all the awesome things I’m seeing, then head on over to my InstaGram feed for loads of photos! I always overgram Quilt Market. I will also do a complete recap after I get home and rest, so check back here at that time!

Another Year, Another Anniversary!

It just sounds crazier every year! Art School Dropout is 13?!! My business is now a true teenager. It had a rough patch there during puberty, but I think we are on the right path again. I have a giveaway planned for later in the month, but for now I’m having a teeny tiny sale…

40% off all patterns in the Etsy pattern shop! Just use coupon code “ASD13” during checkout to get the discount.

Make sure to check back in two weeks for the giveaway I mentioned! I wish i could have hosted it sooner, but I’ve been working my butt off prepping for my trip to Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City this week. If any of you remember the horror story from last year, please wish me all the luck for this year! I am staying four extra days this time around, so expect a few blog posts all about my trip when I get back.

My teenage business and I are very excited!

Fabric Stash Friday: Painter’s Canvas from Michael Miller Fabrics

Fabric Stash Friday: Painter's Canvas from Michael Miller {an Art School Dropout's life}

Lately I have been working with Michael Miller fabrics on a few quilts to show off some upcoming lines, nothing else that I can share other than the Equestrian Quilt Last week. I have also had the pleasure of working with one of their basics, Painter’s Canvas. It’s basically a solid with some texture and it goes great with my simpler quilt designs.

There are 27 colors with coordinating texture, and then 8 with gold texture. I have been working with all of the bright colors, and have included them in three quilts so far. All three are patterns that will be released within the next four months, so keep an eye out for them.

I loved playing with the lines and turning them in different directions to get different looks. It really brought all of my designs to life and made them way less flat. So if you’re feeling the same way about one of your designs, I totally suggest this line!
