Our Second Fab.com Sale is LIVE!!

If you missed it the last time, or want some more discounted Art School Dropout goods, your in luck…

Were having another SEVEN day sale on Fab.com!! The flash sale just started a few minutes ago and will end at 6:55pm, Wednesday July 18th!

We included many necklaces, rings and earrings in this sale. Some are even Fab exclusives!!

If your not familiar with Fab , then let me tell you all about it…

Fab.com is a website that has daily deals on awesome stuff. Lots of art, modern design, jewelry and more. Items are anywhere from 30% to 70% off! The sales only last a short time, so once something sells out, it’s gone. They are a membership based shopping website, but it’s free to join! They also have an incentive program. You get a $25 credit for every new member you get to join who purchases something over $25 within 30 days. You can read more about them and sign up on their website, or mobile app.

I’ll be kept pretty busy the next week or so getting all the Fab orders prepped and shipped out, so I may not be able to show any collections or house tours. But I WILL show some behind the scene shots and such. Oh and Im planning a huge shop update this weekend that will showcase some more brand new items we’ve been working on!! Im super excited about these pieces that I almost took crappy photos of them to update tonight. It took a lot of will power not to do that!

An AdaLou Giveaway!

Just a quick note, Sandi over at AdaLou is hosting a giveaway for one of our necklaces! The post also features an interview with me!

The Contest Ends Wednesday July 18th, 1130PM CST, so head on over, read the interview and enter!!!

Oh and on another note, Don’t forget! Our Fab.com sale starts tonight at 7pm sharp!!!! (ill post again tonight as a reminder!)

Do you think I could have used any more exclamation marks?!!!!!!!!

Newest Additions To Our Walls – May and June 2012

We buy a lot of artwork in this house, nothing to huge or crazy expensive. We prefer simple, nerdy and colorful. Also, I LOVE screen prints. I love how thick the paper is and how solid the lines and objects are. I even have tattoos based off of screen printed art!

I decided that at the beginning of each month I would share some of our purchases from the previous month. and since this is the first post, I’ll be sharing purchases from May and June.

As you can tell, We are both fans of Bill Mudron AND Doctor Who. We actually own more prints by this artist from awhile back too.

I also love buying screen printed and letterpress cards as art, they fit so nicely in between all the large pieces and make for a more pleasing cluster of art! I cant wait until I can share my finds next month too! I have already pinned a few I’d like.

House Tour: The Dining Room

I shared my “library” last week, plus a favorite wall. Now I’m onto my dining room!!
If you’ve seen any of my thrift finds posts, you’ll probably recognize most of the pieces in this room.

We never had a dining room before living here, so everything was purchased specifically for this room.
Originally we were going to paint the room the same color as the rest of the house. Its the only room on this floor with carpet, and the carpet happens to be almost the same color gray that we picked. So we had to go darker gray here. I chose a purplish gray to kinda go along with my plum front door.

As with the library, this room is nowhere near finished, I feel like something is missing, I just don’t know what yet!!! Maybe a built in bench for the bay window? Or curtains? Maybe a cool runner for the sideboard? Or a huge giant Dunny in the corner?

Collections: Toy Scooters

I took a bit of a break from the collections posts, only because my collections were all put away while we painted!

I’m back this Monday with another smaller collection, but one that I love no less.

Toy Scooters! I have more than pictured, but again their still packed away and waiting for a permanent home, in our home. My thing for scooters started almost 10 years ago when my car broke down and I needed a new form of transportation in the city (Baltimore City to be exact). I would pine over the Vespa adds in the newspaper every week. It wasnt until a year later Adult Swim started airing the anime FlCl. A slightly confusing but awesome show, about a girl possibly from outer space that is annoying a young boy with loads of problems. (I’m being vague on purpose, because I think you should go watch it on netflix now, and I don’t want to give anything away). Anyway, the main girl rides an awesome mustard colored scooter with some odd modifications…

… and this is the scooter above! It was my first toy scooter purchase!! It actually came with the character too, but she fell apart pretty quickly.

A few months after that awesome purchase I got to have a real scooter of my own!!! It was a baby blue and cream colored Honda Metropolitan II. I couldn’t have a Vespa because my legs were just too short and I would have toppled over. Ha. I drove that thing everywhere! I loved it so much. Sadly I can’t seem to find pictures of it on this computer, I’m going to search around the house and see what I come up with.

Back to the toy scooters… The collection grew very fast after owning my own human sized version and every time I saw a teeny tiny scooter, or even a large Barbie scooter, I’d pick them up!

I’m still on the lookout for more, though it seems the craze has died down a little in our area. So I don’t see them as often.

And as for the real scooter, I sold it when I became pregnant with CT. We didn’t think I’d get much use out of it in the country and a friend really needed a replacement for her stolen scooter. I seriously miss it all the time. We are still talking about getting me another one day, but this time it’ll look more like the FlCl scooter, P! sticker and all!

I’m one of THOSE nerds.
