Yep, Still Sick…

Just when I thought we were all getting better, We all got WAY WORSE! We’ve spent almost four days now hanging out on the couch in the bedroom, I’ve hardly even seen the downstairs. It seems the days are all about resting and the nights are all about coughing, puking and NOT resting. Ugh. I just want this to be over.

All the down time has given me time to come up with new projects. I pulled all the above fabrics from my stash for some vacation themed dresses for CT. I’m excited to try out my ideas… once I’m feeling up to it.

I also have been sketching out new craft show displays! I’m about to purchase a new scroll saw (that way I dont have to bug my mom) and I figured I could make something modular and adjustable. I MAY be getting in over my head, but who knows, maybe it’ll work. It’s always worth a try.

Picking out or making things for my tent or table displays is always my favorite part of doing shows. I’ve been toying with the idea of sharing some of my favorite set ups by price range. Would anyone be interested in seeing that?

Well, I’m off to go cuddle up with CT some more! Let’s all cross our fingers that today is the last day of this nasty cold!!

Sewing, Sewing and More Sewing

I had plans to share some of the projects Ive been working on, but instead I spent most of my day and night looking for misplaced fabric squares. So I didnt have time to finish things up. We ended up finding the pieces in a suitcase!!! How they ended up there I have no idea. I’m just happy I found them.

The pieces were part of the quilt I started back in January. (apparently I started a lot of quilts in January) I was short a few fat quarters, and couldn’t make up my mind about what fabrics to add, so i just put the project aside! While searching for the perfect binding fabric for the chevron quilt I stumbled upon a different series of Lizzy House fabric. I ordered a bunch of fat quarters and two yards of that floral fabric above for the backing. I’m excited to get this quilt finished! I have all the supplies needed, so I have no excuse to put this project aside again!

Wish me luck!

August Crafternoon

I meant to write more about Heidi’s crafternoon in the last post, but I got a little side tracked by my macaron pictures. Plus CT woke up early, so I had to cut the post short so we could start our morning. It’s now the late afternoon and I’m getting a slight break to “play” on the computer!

Every crafternoon has a set project, and this months was fabric covered button hairbands. I also brought along some of those plastic bezel pieces I made a few months back to try out. You can see one in white in the photo above, bottom left corner. Anyway, it was a nice project that did not result in any injuries. We were asked to bring some scrap fabric and Heidi provided the rest. As always it was fun! The project wasn’t as intense as past months which meant everyone was able to socialize more, which is always the best part of these get togethers!

The food was great again too! I have been having issues with gluten for awhile, so when I go places I don’t expect to actually get to enjoy things. Well, thats not the case for these parties. Everyone is so thoughtful and accommodating. I was able to enjoy a cheesy potato soup (with full on fixing bar) and a piece of povlova made by Heidi, and an awesome veggie wrap using gluten free tortilla by Molly. I of course was also able to enjoy my own macarons since they are also gluten free!

I’m so glad I get to go to these things. Thank you Heidi! I’m already excited about next months crafternoon, I really enjoy everyone that attends and I almost always get to meet someone new! If you live in an area with loads of crafty people, I totally suggest trying these types of get together! Were all so attached to our computers all the time that its nice to get out and see people face to face!
